MAKI Scientific Workshop 2015: Challenges for Future Mobile Communications and Networking

The MAKI-Scientific Workshop series is an annual workshop series organized by the DFG collaborative research center MAKI and is focused on specific topics of Future Internet research. This year's wokshop was held on 18th of March 2015 at Darmstadtium. The organizing chair Anja Klein managed to compile an exciting program attracting overall more than 100 participants. Internationally well known speakers like Erik Dahlman (5G – Wireless Access Beyond 2020), Guiseppe Caire (Femtocaching, D2D Caching, and the Fundamental Limits of Certain Caching Networks), Mihaela van der Schaar (Real-time Discovery, Learning and Decision Making from Big Data), and Albert Banchs (Offloading Cellular Traffic through Opportunistic Communications) reported about challenges and trends for Future Mobile communication networks. The program was concluded with a recent research highlight of MAKI awarded with the best paper at NetSys 2015 and was presented by Matthias Schulz (A Framework Enabling Flexible PHY Layer Processing to Address APP Requirements).
